Title: Anyone messing around with ADS-B aircraft tracking
Post by: Grinch on June 09, 2025, 1526 UTC
I don't know that I've ever seen a posting about ADS-B on here. It's been around for quite some time, but I didn't hear much about it myself until recently. I'm currently running on a Flightaware Pro stick plus, Raspberry Pi and an ADSBexchange antenna outside at about 12'. Having lots of fun tracking aircraft. Mostly in the 50- 150 mile range, but some over 200 miles out. I'm running the flightaware/Piaware program for now. Let me know how it's going for you and what your set-up is. Thanks

I recently signed up to be a "Flight Feeder" station because I was interested in the helicopter traffic coming and going from the local hospital, and trying to find them on the air  as well. they sent me a flight Feeder unit (PI 4 with an SDR board in a nice case), coax and a 1090 MHz antenna. Got a nice T-Shirt from the Flight Aware folks as well.
