Title: Radio Moschiach - Lubavitcher Chasid 1700AM 2100 UTC Brooklyn, NYC
Post by: atrainradio on June 17, 2025, 0147 UTC
Here's an interesting station that has recently signed on in Brooklyn. A Lubavitcher Chasid station, broadcasting in Yiddish and sometimes in English. They have a readable signal all over Brooklyn and western Queens (Ridgewood, Bushwick etc). I'm unsure if possible, but keep your radio tuned to 1700 at night; they might just be heard, though far more likely WRCR will wipe them out. If they just went up to 1710, they'd have a much better signal.

They were on years ago for a long time and then the FCC shut them down. Interesting that they have returned, perhaps hiding underneath WRCR in the local neighborhoods of Brooklyn.

Hey All,

Yes I recall the old incarnation of this station WAY back in the day.

As I recall they had HUGE power ( 10 Kw ??? ) and could be heard quiet well at times  here in Boston , albeit with QSB.

RCR does not do very well here, there are other in the X band that do a MUCH better job.

Very Interesting!

Looks like I received them on 1700 kHz back on 2018: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,46754.0.html

Back in 2010, 1710 kHz was Radio Celestial, with the rumor they bought the old Lubavitcher transmitter: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,3890.0.html

I thought Rebbe Schneerson might have finally resurrected? He gave me 5 bucks in the 1980's.
