Title: Big E-skip opening logs
Post by: atrainradio on June 26, 2025, 1752 UTC
The E-Skip gods treated me to the once-a-year-if-you're-lucky E-skip opening today. I only could log three stations, but that's pretty good considering I'm working with the very crowded NYC FM Band.

KXCV 90.5 Maryville, Missouri - College
KTBG 90.9 Kansas City - alternative rock
KUAF 91.3 Fayetteville, Arkansas - NPR

I guess I'll see ya next year, e-skip!

I really should get back into FM DXing, which is the only kind that should be as happening as it was 40 years ago...MW/SW/TV DXing aren't what they were but FM should be.  I am in a market (State College PA) without Spanish language stations, so I was surprised to find one on my beer run a few minutes ago (so July 4 1545 UTC) and it was KTUZ 106.7 Oklahoma City.  Doesn't beat my best FMDX from around 1980 which was Winnipeg (which the letter from their chief engineer called "amazing," probably because he didn't know about E-skip), but not bad for a beer run.
