Title: Red Apple Media (WABC 770 AM NYC) looks to buy more northeast stations
Post by: Ct Yankee on July 10, 2025, 0936 UTC
As noted on the board earlier, the purchase by Red Apple Media of a northern NYC suburban station, WRCR, is perplexing as WABC can be heard in WRCR's coverage footprint and is now relaying WABC.  The potential expansion certainly flies in the face of radio trends these day  - Good Luck, Mr. Cats!

Would have been a curious situation had Red Apple acquired WCBS 880 AM, as story notes.  Two 50,000 watt Class A stations - though night time reception varies - WABC better south and west, WCBS better north and east.

Hey CT.

I REALLY miss WCBS.

New York needs another sports station about as much as they need more rats.
