Title: Calibrating S-Meter
Post by: K5KNT on January 25, 2014, 2311 UTC
I would like to check/calibrate the S-meter on my copy of SdrDx SDR software. I don't have a signal generator. Are there inexpensive software signal generators (for OS X) or something else I could use?  Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

FWIW: I find SdrDx to be fairly accurate regarding the S meter.

There's no way to test this with an app, you need to generate RF, not audio.

Thanks Chris. I know Ben says that the SdrDx S-meter is calibrated for an RFSpace radio. Since I have an Afedri, I wasn't sure if I should re-calibrate it.  I guess I just call it good.

The only way you'll be able to calibrate it is with a signal generator.
