Why is 17592.0 to 17940.0 "Blacked Out" ? Im guessing its for cell phone or Police Trunking or..?
-
Blacked out where? You need to be more specific.

Between 17592 and 17940.
When I posted this yesterday, It was just a blank space. Today I noticed its been labeled as "Masked"

Again... *where* ? It looks like a KiwiSDR. There's hundreds if not thousands of KiwiSDRs online. Which one.

This one.

Just 17946 kHz was masked. Looks like it's an aviation frequency. I blocked it most likely because I got tired of people sitting on it for hours at a time.
I removed the mask, I'll keep it removed as long as users behave ;D

@ZenithSWL More info about the frequency in the HFU wiki. :)

@Chris Long-term HFGCS campers were generally my worst SDR abusers. "Were" as they have largely disappeared since blocking the popular HFGCS frequencies and a small notice in the headers. Otherwise, I have a few regular users that seem to forget closing their browser tabs.

Yes, I frequently see some bozo from Wichita, Kansas who will park on 11175 forever. I think the longest I saw him there was over 70 hours before I finally booted him (I wanted to see how long he'd stay and finally gave up). Also the folks who seem to fall asleep after turning in, here's the current winner, almost 12 hours on 160m!

Wow, I thought all web KiwiSDRs timed out after 30 minutes...I used one that did and just assumed they all did, so after that I never stuck around that long!

Admins can set certain limits; or not. I have my Kiwi and 888 configured as unlimited time per receiver slot, though limited to one receiver slot per each connected IP address external to my own LAN. BTW, links to each are in my forum signature.
Note the KiwiSDR listings will show if limits are configured. The hourglass icon means time limits are configured.

Conversely, the Web888 lists do not show limits as this time.
