today on USB heard some guys with net control talking back to each other seem to be spread out all over the country with calls signs like AFA5PL & AFA1ML AFA5BP all saying they were TransCon. what would that be apart of ?

I believe those are Air Force MARS stations.

Yep, Martians.  Sometimes they search for the Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator.
