Can someone have a listen to 14313 USB and explain what is going on? Hearing music, swearing and alot of bad mouthing each other.
-
the same old same old every day all day
after awhile it sounds like a broken record
been going on for years just another bunch of "good old boys"
-
Thanks paranoid dxer. Sounds like the old CB band at times.
-
Since you've asked, I'll try and give you a better idea. This has been an ongoing battle for years between several HAMs. Many are far more than "good 'ol boys" as described. If interested, you can start your search here for the main players. But if you Google 14.313, you'll come up with many pages. I'm not in any way affiliated with any of these groups, but I'm well aware of it. The battles also sometimes drop from 14.313 and end up on 7.200 and usually later in the night on 3.833 or more popularly on 3.843.
It's HAM radios version of All in the Family :P

I could go into detail about this but will refrain because of it being total foolishness and way outside of reality... it is slander and liable at its nauseating best really... sickening...

There's good and bad in every group... as a former church deacon... errr... well... I'll hold that for now.... sigh...
did you hear the one about the Priest that was having an affair with a married women and her husband burned the church down to purify the ground it stood on??? Ahhhh yes... Tales of Tilbury Town... etal...

Again, thanks for all the info. Just surprised when I came across it tuning around the different frequencies. Just kind of reminded me of the typical CB radio. :)
-
When DXing, I occasionally tune around the ham bands. Sometimes you hear some darn interesting QSOs that way, especially during contests. I've been warned to avoid the heck out of 14313 and 14275kHz, however. Brother but those frequencies are awful! CBers with ham tickets sounds about right.
I'm pretty sure I heard them QSY to 7200kHz once, one night about a year ago. awful, awful stuff. I admit I was half asleep with the radio in my ears at the time, but these were definitely rude, crude hams/CBers, not an SW station. Nightmare fodder for me, and I do mean that!
Working on my ham ticket at the moment, and if I ever get a general or higher license, I'll be staying the frak off those specific frequencies to be sure.

Good Luck getting your ticket. :)

I've sometimes wondered if the FCC tolerates the nonsense on 14313, with the hopes that it does not spread elsewhere.

It has been going on for many years and the FCC has commented on it several times. Some have even argued they let this go on (state side) with a similar tactic like laying out a rotting carcass. It attracts and keeps the buzzards & flies in one small area instead of spread out. The theories abound :)
-
I don't even bother listening to 14313 kHz. In fact, I avoid it. Been trying to work some DX on 40 CW tonight. :)

Seems like the Feds decided to put an end to the "nonsense"! Check out the link below and scroll down to "Texts". Hmmm...animal noises?

3840 LSB is waaaay more fun to listen to.
-
Looks like the FCC slapped them with some big fines Skipmuck. Maybe they might stop now ???. I doubt it. But why the animal noises ??? I will also check out 3840 LSB. Thanks srfpunk138.

The funny part of all this is that this behaviour on the ham bands would not be totally out of place on the pirate bands, or better yet in the IRC chat room (last night for instance). I've heard some entertaining animal noises on a few pirate programs, and have read extensively about the backstabbing and backbiting on the former FRN. I was told by a straight and narrow long time ham operator that the pirates didn't bother him as long as they didn't interfere with legal broadcasts.. Some of the good natured swiping in the pirate community is actually entertaining until it gets abusive. I really don't like to see anybody getting busted, but stupidity is stupidity no matter how extensively you overanalyze it. These guys that got busted were warned several times and the FCC gave them just enough rope to hang themselves. I think there is a message here for both pirate ops and listeners to give some thought to.
-
With everything, there is a fine line that you don't cross and these gents, legal or not did and they paid the consequences for their actions. They can only blame themselves for their stupidity. Thanks for all the info Skipmuck. Very entertaining to say the least. ;D

For the 'rest of the story' read:

Non-stop self-described "fillibuster" going on right now... all these guys trying to out-talk each other, with rambling nonsensical discourses going on at the same time... this is beyond self parody. It doesn't seem the fines changed a damn thing!
Plus ça change!

Just listened to 3840 LSB for a while and it reminded me of a joke... What has 100 legs and 72 teeth?
Answer: The front two rows of a Willie Nelson concert
-
I had never checked this frequency out. I just did.
WTF?
fpe
-
ok. like driving past an accident, i just had to listen again to this freq.
why in the world is this allowed to continue?

FYI So as to nail the two related coffins shut, even though the nonsence continues, see the two latest FCC FOs:
https://apps.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/DA-15-832A1.pdf
https://apps.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/DA-15-51A1.pdf
And don't forget to carefully also read the two underlying NALs -- note particularly that FN #11 in BOTH refers to the occasionally herein maligned Karol VE7KFM -- and FN #16 in the Brian CROW K3VR NAL tells the LIEing HAMereekan Psycho tale:

ENJOY !!!

Well that pirate Ham has been operating on 14275 khz during the hurricane season this year... running that stupid robot beacon he insists on using... if you catch his call sometime check the FCC database... he has no license... he did once but no longer...

The mills of the gods grind slowly....
In the case of KZ8O/nd8v:

12/08/2015 Offlined for Alert List Review
12/08/2015 Offlined for Alert List Review
12/08/2015 Redlight Review Completed
In my case 15 years -- but better late then never....
And while we're at it, take a look at K3VR's ADMIN History:
http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/ApplicationSearch/applAdminHistory.jsp?applID=8774532
01/17/2015 Offlined for Alert List Review
01/17/2015 Offlined for Alert List Review
01/16/2015 Withdrawal of Application Received
09/15/2014 Offlined for Enforcement Bureau Action
09/06/2014 Offlined for Alert List Review
09/06/2014 Offlined for Alert List Review
09/06/2014 Redlight Review Completed
09/05/2014 Payment Confirmed
09/05/2014 Modification Received
FYI The immediately above noted "Modification" was K3VR's application for the Vanity call-sign "N0NAL" -- which unfortunately for him was superceded by the FO early this year -- hence the "Withdrawal of Application"....
And "N0FO" phonetically 'NO -- Fuck Off' was a non-starter, since it's already taken, HI.
As we used to say in the Service, for both LIDs: Wait for it!!!

7.200 on/in 40m is another that has been out of control as of late. Many of the same "suspects" involved. Daytime is usually 14.313, with 7.200 in the mornings and afternoons. Then it bleeds down to 3.843 (though that has been pretty quiet the last month), or 3.840 or 3.860 as the nighttime comes on
-
Looks like they got another one. Good. From QRZ.COM
