Very weak signal activity in the waterfall, so no ID on the specific repeater. I caught a brief voice "hello" at ~2004z.
Airspy HF+D and 30' inverted delta loop with preamp.

I have heard a 10m repeater here and there over the years. Never actually had a QSO through one though. A couple of years ago I worked Alaska and a couple of European countries on 10M FM simplex. That was a lot of fun. At the time I was running an FT-710 or FT-950 with a hexbeam. Lost the antenna during one of the hurricanes and downsized to a G90 and OCF dipole, so I haven't even tried to listen for quite some time. Do you happen to remember the old crossband repeaters that went from 2M into 10 meters?

29.600 is a fun place for FM simplex on 10 meters. It's usually active and good for a quick report, being the simplex calling frequency. The occasional repeater that pops up on that frequency can ruin the whole experience. One in particular (somewhere in the western U.S. I think) keys up over and over with a strong enough signal to make QSOs difficult. Not sure why anyone would use the SIMPLEX calling frequency for a repeater output. In fact, I heard some guys on 29.500 today complaining how they had to QSY just to escape it. Wish I could catch an ID for the repeater, assuming it even has one. There was one in NYC, but I think the owner heard enough complaints for such an obvious stupid frequency to pick and changed it.
