FYI: Several of us have received scam emails from Band-Aid Radio's tutamail account, which seems to have been hacked, asking for money.
Please be cautious when receiving emails from anyone!

to me
Hi again,
Today is my niece's birthday. I promised to send her the gift card today, and I don't want to break the promise. I would really appreciate it if you could purchase the gift card online through Amazon or Apple website and send it directly to my niece's email address. Please kindly let me know if you can do this now so I can send you the details needed. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Awaiting your kind reply.

I got the sore throat version:
From: [email protected]
Date: January 15, 2026 at 7:34:25 AM EST
Subject: hope all is well with you?
Hello,
Sorry to bother you. Hope you are keeping safe?
I want to know if this email is still valid to write to you. I'm unable to speak over the phone due to serious throat pain caused by laryngitis. I'd like to ask a favor from you, please.

I got one of these emails, too. I use my most "public-facing" email address for QSL correspondence, so I'm kind of used to getting spam emails over there between the legit ones. Always be vigilant with that stuff!
