Title: beacon on 8424.3?
Post by: charlie on October 09, 2009, 2252 UTC

I'm hearing a CW beacon of some type on 8424.2 kHz at 2243z in Atlanta. It's pretty strong, between S3 and S5, and sending "de SVO" followed by a 3 second key down.

Any idea what it is?

It's from Greece, their maritime service.  It's a cw marker for traffic channels between shore stations and ships.
