Title: military transmission on 7162 LSB?
Post by: I-18667-BI on March 05, 2026, 2009 UTC
Does anyone know what mode this might be?
It looks like a multi-tone digital signal with many parallel carriers in the waterfall.
Could it be some kind of military HF data transmission?

This is NATO Forces Link-11, or possibly Link-22 in Link-11 backwards compatibility mode.

The signal is in USB, not LSB, and to be properly tuned you would be on 7159 kHz, USB.

Thanks for the explanation!
Why is it being transmitted on the ham band?
