19 Mar. 0230gmt., 11.905, suppose to be Sri Lanka (in English), instead heard Islamic chant;
bad fidelity but strong signal; 0238gmt. now male talk, very distorted, can't be sure of language spoken...
anybody confirm id of this station?
0235gmt., 9.720 assume to be R. Egypt w. female vocals/Islamic flavor w. flutes.

Not sure about Sri Lanka being in English at 2:30 utc. Aoki EiBi & HFCC all list SLBC as Hindi at this hour.The only English from them on 11905 is at 3:00utc on Saturday & Sunday. It does sound very much like you heard ERTU (Radio Cairo) general service in Arabic.

We can't hear this in Melbourne at this time of year. But I expect it's Cairo which usually sits on that freq for a few hours. The audio quality kinda gives it away too, doesn't it?!! :) Srilanka is probably there but being covered up by the distortion.
