So, I have been listening to NY sports teams on radio for over sixty years.  I do not ever recall an out of market professional sports team having a radio affiliate in New York City.  Notre Dame has had a NYC affiliate.  I was alive, but not old enough to remember, the Giants and Dodgers in NY.  My research on line shows no radio coverage of these teams once they moved but there were a handful of games on TV in 1958.

Is this New York City's first out of market professional sports team on radio?  (Let me cut you off at the pass, there hasn't been pro football on the radio in NYC for quite awhile - hahahaha  ;))
