I was cruising through the LW band tonight, 530 AM cuba good signal , 198 khz weak carrier, then I stumbled into this,
500 khz AM too weak to make anything out but music and talking on 500 khz ? Must be a spur or something?
Absolutely no strong AM stations anywhere near my QTH especially at night...
Fades in and out rather quickly but still hearing it a 6:10 utc

I had the same issue last fall early winter. CKWW 580 had a spur on 500/KHz. Being that station is not far from me , it could make things tough around that portion of the band give or take 10/KHz. Being that is also in the experimental portion of the band I fired off letters to CKWW about it. Keep in mind, it wasn't just one radio or antenna. I could hear it on my Perseus, ICOM, etc. Also other area HAMs reported it. I believe I still have a recording of it off the Perseus. You may have the same issue.

They are about ~70 miles from my QTH...
