I'm not a pirate radio chaser, but I do tune around a lot between 6800 kHz and 7000 kHz a lot because you never know what sort of odd things you will hear. Earlier tonight I heard a strong signal on 6935 kHz on my XHDATA D808 + 100 ft low wire.
The music was pretty cool. When I tuned in at 0123 UTC it was jazzy piano music, then some musical version of Hello Dolly, then some jazz crooner singing 'When I Take My Sugar To Tea', then some 50's sounding pop crooner track.
Then there was some Mitch Miller / Ray Conniff style track. At 0135 UTC another instrumental.
Then at 0143 UTC this awesome avante-garde jazz track with a hot trumpet, dark chorded piano, sax, an incredible upright bass solo with wild bowing, some vibes, and crazy drums now and then. No idea who the artist was.
Sounded like some 50's or early 60's era experimental jazz.
There was a faster trumpet piece, and then I tuned out. I recorded the avante-garde jazz piece on my Grundig G2.
The signals were around SIO352-3, and the signal got stronger. It was a full S4-S5 at times off the whip on my G2.
I didn't hear any announcements, probably missed them if there were any.
Location is in Western WA state. XHDATA D808 + ~100ft low wire, Grundig G2.

A nice signal here on my SDR recording, from 0106 UTC sign on. Some static, but not too bad.

I caught the entire 1 hour 15 minutes. Quality was quite good with just some noise and fading. QRM was probably local
