New program, now talking about EU Election results
-
I'm getting some very weak audio on 6771.2 KHZ at 1300 UTC tune-in. Music slowly fading in and out of the noise floor...lady singer.
-
They just ran news at 1500z, and the news was provided by "Feature Story News" which seems to be this outfit: http://featurestorynews.com/
-
Still going at 0030z and back to playing old time radio shows.
-
I am hearing talking here----torn up by static crashes. 0041 UTC
-
Most of the day this station was broadcasting Radio Ukraine. Switched to old time shows around 0000z
-
Still going at 1047z this morning.
I'm beginning to wonder if we need to move this station from Pirate to Other?
-
Went to Radio Ukraine website and from what I saw when I clicked on "frequencies", they are entirely web streaming now and no longer on shortwave but I could be wrong. I think a pirate is relaying the streams and mixing in some of his own content.
-
I think you're right, Dick.
I heard him there initially Friday evening. I figured as he was still going on Sunday it was a Memorial Day Weekend marathon, yet today he's still there.
As duration goes, he's whupped Alan Maxwell.

I think maybe we should move this topic to "HUH?" ;D
-
We should call this station "Energizer Bunny Radio" cuz it keeps going and going and going and going.....
-
Still going at 1200z on 28 May 2014. News at the top of the hour and then back into EZ Listening style music.
I think this has been on non stop for a few days now. I can't see this being a pirate, although I am not sure what it is, perhaps a .mil contractor having fun?
-
I remember about 10 years ago, a station on 6250 or so would appear, rebroadcasting a local FM station. I heard them once around sunset for about 20 minutes before fading out. The FCC tracked the guy down. He was using 6250 to transmit the FM station from his house to his work shed in the back yard, or something similar. Not sure of the wattage but it was low.
I'm wondering if this could be something similar?

That certainly seems possible. FWIW reception has not been as good the last day or two, as it previously was.
Right now, 1813z, I have a very weak signal, mostly just a carrier in fact. It was stronger earlier today.
1857z update: I have instrumental music now, but still fairly weak.
-
Here in Pennsylvania from 0040 to 0105 UTC on the 26th I could get a halfway decent signal, but now I can only get a weak carrier.
-
Another strange thing is this seems to be fully automated like a commercial station. Switches to news at the top of the hour for 5 mins then seamlessly switches back over to programming as if there is elaborate computerized automation in control. "Murder at midnight" actually plays at midnight so some thought and work went into this.
-
News right now at 2301 UTC. Coming in pretty strong here in PA, signal gets better as the evening goes on.
-

You beat me to it. LOL.
-
About S-9 at 2327 on 5-28-14 with instrumental MOR elevator music. Into vocal "I Concentrate On You" by Dianne Reeves at 2329.
-
2340 - 6771.325 kHz (v)
A faint carrier at times, other times nothing at all. No audio.
Definately not as good as other evenings, so far...
-
Fairly good into GA. 6771.3+ here. Beating out the static.
-
Good signal here this early evening on 6771.3 ish AM at 2345 UTC tune-in playing cocktail lounge blues and a familiar sounding instrumental tune, the name of which escapes me at the moment. S8 at peaks and well above the noise floor, but marred by occasional static crashes. The audio quality is actually quite good! Hey mystery op....how about some email contact or something? You have us bewildered! ???
(I think the tune was Sunrise Serenade.)
2359 UTC FSN News until 0004 UTC, into Amos & Andy
-
I think it went off some time between 0000z and 0105z (now) Did anyone catch it as it ended, maybe saying what it was?
-
Its actually still on. Never ended. Probably just faded out for you. I seem to be able to hear at least a carrier round the clock here.

That's odd, I could get the carrier throughout the day, then nearly full audio in the evening. Maybe they have a directional antenna and turned it? I couldn't even get a faint carrier then, which is why I thought it ended.
-
Barely any signal around 1030z this morning, just a faint carrier. Now S7 at 1206z, the news just ended and they're back into the music.
Looking at the SDR waterfall, the audio is at least +/- 10 kHz wide.
-
I've been able to hear this at varying degrees of signal strength 24/7. Weakest between 0800-1200 when the MUF is lowest.
Propagation similar to CFRX 6070 in Toronto. Hopefully they will return.
-
Barely audible again at 1900z. I just checked the real time foF2 map, and the current value over the Mid Atlantic US is 6 MHz, slightly lower to the north and higher to the south. The F layer has been weaker than usual the last few days, I see the solar flux is down to 99.
-
Just starting to see and hear hints of the carrier at 2006 UTC. The carrier is just above/below the noise (Noisy) floor at this time.
Agree with Chris Lobdell that this seems similar to CFRX in prop.
-
Hints of music on peaks at 2216 UTC
-
Echo One emailed me and said that this station is a coordinated effort amoung several volunteers in the Netherlands to broadcast Radio Ukraine International during this time of crisis. He says the station is called "Radio Free Ukraine". All signal reports and QSL requests should be sent to reportecho1@gmail.com and he will act as messenger to the parties involved.

S4 carrier, no audio, at 1300 here in Chicago.
