Title: BBC 's annual Winter Solstice Transmission to Brit Antarctic Base schedule info
Post by: ChrisLobdell on June 18, 2014, 1546 UTC
I'm told there will be a test today, June 18, at 2130-2145 as follows:

7350 kHz, site ASC,  beam 207 deg
5875 kHz, site WOF, beam 184 deg
9890 kHz  site WOF,  beam 182 deg
5985 kHz  site DHA,  beam 203 deg

The three best frequencies will be used for the annual broadcast June 21 at 2130-2200.

Here are the frequencies to be used from 2130-2200 UTC on Saturday, June 21st [per Dan Ferguson]

5875 - Wofferton-England  207 deg
5985 - DHA [United Arab Emirates - UAE] - 203 deg
7350 - Ascension Is - 207deg

The best heard test frequency on the ECNA for the test was 9890 but that is not being used.
7350 provided marginal reception.  Probably no reception here except on ECNA via 7350 kHz.

7350 KHZ-Carrier on promptly at 2130 UTC and program on abruptly a few seconds later. Nice S8 signal here with a little bit of flutter. Also heard on //5875 KHZ, but very weak there. Nothing at all on 5985 kHZ. Interesting program of messages from loved ones...100% copy here. I googled the Halley Research Station and here is the latest weather! Nice website...

2159 UTC Closing announcements followed by an uptempo "What a Wonderful World", off abruptly.
(Happy to have heard this! Actually, the weather wasn't much different than here in Western Massachusetts this past winter....  ;D)
