The Sparta 5KW and RCA 5KW are in remarkably good shape.  Its been a long time since I've seen a broadcast pull that clean.  Usually they look like the 250W on the inside.

He might like them for parts but Dave is so very talented in building, he wouldn't run these stock... I know Dave, we used to help him scout parts at hamfests & the Roaches from 3910 [of old] were always among his audience...

To be fair, a modern solid state rig at the 5KW power level is barely 150 lbs.  That seems a lot more portable than most of those 'old gals'
