Nice steady S5 signal here at 2232 UTC with "I Won't Back Down"-Tom Petty. No contact address given yet, at least not that I've heard. Still, it's nice to have a regular Euro audible here in the USA!
Hey, whoever you are, how about an email, Magic op? :)

Magic AM magicamradio@gmail.com
Twitter: @magicfreeradio
[Did a little dragnet searching]

Very good, but Magic AM is a well known Dutch station. The origin and contact address of Magic International is still unknown. Nothing is sure at this point but most probably they are two different things.  :(

I see that now that I looked at Twitter account update...
I also got a note that this current station is not Dutch but rather in Ireland...

Not sure but it's all fun & whoever they are, they got a very good site to be heard into the wee hours of the AM [0515z last night]

Current theory is that Magic Int is former "Canarian" "Horizon FM" from Ireland under a new name. Maybe from Azores this time...  ;D ;)

Every time I have heard Dutch Magic AM, there has been live dj Doc Magic on air, and he repeatedly advertises that he is broadcasting from Amsterdam. Automated playlist hardly suits his idea of free radio.

It is also possible we will never learn anything more about this case, like with SW Gold.

Interesting Jari,

Having listened the last 3 nights, the propagation matches the theory. It was louder last night than previous nights & stayed at good levels past 0630z here in Virginia.

I have to wonder what is the point of broadcasting, without any audience interaction & no revenue potential?

Pirates do it for fun & satisfaction but this operation is clearly not a 100W pirate?
How do you pay the electric bill?  :'(

The mystery continues but I feel bad for the Dutch operator of Magic. I also feel a bit duped after thinking his info matched what we were hearing... :'(

Thank you for sharing the theory... We shall continue solving the puzzle...

It strikes me some of you really need to get out a bit more! You spend hours scanning the bands looking for unlicensed stations. Then when you find one you want to shout all about it and celebrate. Then after all this time searching all you want to do is 'out' the station and shout about what jurisdiction it's breaking the law in. Has it never crossed any of your minds that maybe, just maybe the operators of said unlicensed stations would prefer to keep some air of mystery to the operation? If what your hearing offends your ears so much just because you can't be sure of it's origin or intentions why not just tune away? Is somebody making you listen? If you want to listen to a station that is totally accountable and has everything it does down in black and white may I suggest you listen to licensed radio.  I would love to know how many of you have actually had the balls to set up a station yourselves rather than criticise what you spend so long searching for. Considering the size of the SW broadcast bands you really are complaining about needles in haystacks. Back to the particular station in question, have any of you considered that maybe the current output is just a test? have you considered that the last thing the operators of the station may want while they are still ironing out technical problems is to be bombarded with impatient QSL requests? How about a bit of patience? It's only radio......... nobody has died!!!!! ;D

Rafman

I think you will find a 'Magic' in many countries so regrettably I don't think the Dutch own exclusivity to the name . As for duped, wouldn't feeling stupid for jumping to the wrong conclusion be a better way of putting it......

Up to an S8 signal at 2336z, with some static from nearby storms. OM talk, mention of emails, then back into the music.
2344 Mention of Cool AM radio.

Thanks for the broadcast.

Fair signal here in Western MA tonight with European pop tunes and announcer between songs since 2320 UTC. Some band noise and rapid fading tonight, but otherwise sounds good here through the stereo system.

2358z: Thumping S5 dance music here with frequent OM announcements between songs, but difficult to understand those announcements here.
