FYI to all. Per email from DJ Dickweed, RFW will be airing their show on WBCQ this Friday 10/17/14 at 9:00 PM ESTon 5110 KHz. I will be listening! ;D

That's awesome!! Can't wait!
-
Is the 5100 kHz band common for pirate broadcasting? How does its usage compare with the 6900 kHz band? What would be the advantages and disadvantages of each?

Jordan, WBCQ " The Planet" is a 100KW shortwave broadcaster in which RFW is airing a show on their station. I believe he is paying to have it aired. Hopefully this clears up any questions about it. :)

As scheduled, it's on now with DJ Dickweed and Stavin reminiscing about the origins of Radio Free Whatever ;D
2316 UTC "WBCQ Radio Free Whatever Special", into "Weight of Love"-Black Keys
Playing examples of a QRM show, then the 1941 Time Warp show (of course being the dedicated pirate listener, I had to sneak over to 6935 to listen to Renegade battling the Stanag.... ;D)
Thanks for the program via WBCQ Comrades! There was something missing though, something that lends authenticity to your always entertainment programs. Something called propagation disturbance....and band noise!

Talking about his shortwive heavy metal show.
0120 "It's QRM on Radio Free Whatever on WBCQ"
0146 Time Warp Special (WWII)
Sounding great here; thank you Radio Komrades!

Enjoying the show and the history/bio of RFW very much. Thanks DJ Dickweed and Stavin. ;D

0157 Send your empty beer cans to Dick Weed so he can scrap them out to buy more air time on WBCQ.

I had to cash them in myself to pay for the 5 day sabbatical at the Librium and Orange Juice detoxification program in 2004...love those DT's....NOT :-X

I was listening last night also. Was a bad night for reception here though. RFW comes in better for me on 6925 :^) It was an enjoyable show, kind of designed to spread the pirate message to laypeople. Nothing wrong with that though. If it helps turn people on to SWLing, all the better! Thanks DW & Steven!
