Title: A "P" beacon note
Post by: weaksigs on December 03, 2014, 0425 UTC
Though very difficult I scoped the signal variation on "P" and it appears to swing frequency
between about 8.497937  to  8.497743  ~   193 to maybe 200 hz on a rather rough and
difficult measurement.  Maybe this is a low battery problem now that I think about it causing
the oscillator to swing under load.  Only a guess....   :) ??? ??? ???

Thanks for the measurement! What time period is the swing occurring over? Minutes? Hours?

The frequency swing is measured roughly from turn on of the "P" to turn off of the "P".
Either the frequency is swinging, or as has been mentioned it is being modulated by
power supply hum and noise or another anomaly. I should have added this information
as perhaps not everyone can hear this beacon with a similar signal to noise ratio.

So plainly said its not a drift but an instantaneous frequency shift/modulation.
