I'd like this thread to only be a pointer with links and info for off-the-air recordings of beacons.
No discussions or hijacks on supposedly related topics.
Knowing what to listen for can really help a beginner. What to use to listen, when to listen and so on would be topics for other threads. Maybe if there is enough info it can be a sticky. Token has a number of good recordings with a spectrum display on YouTube but I had no idea they were there until last night.

On my last two desert camping trips I took short videos when my KX3 was tuned into the beacons. I slapped some of the videos together so that others might know what to listen for with these particular beacons

2097 KHz letter "A"
4079.6 KHZ "TMP" temperature beacon
4096.24 KHz "Hexie" Beacon
4097.25 KHz "Inyo Whooper" Beacon
4102.3 KHz "W- Windy" beacon with wind data, no "W"
6626.3 KHz "Rainy" Beacon
6700.5 KHz "Hexie 2K" Beacon
All were received on my Elecraft KX3 while camping in two locations in the California desert. One was near Baker and the other near Saline Valley.

13,558.855 unknown beacon
Here is what I am hearing in Southern California on a video. There is a double PIP in the first second or two of video then 57 PIPs and at 1:02 a double PIP
Video/Audio at https://youtu.be/DLMZOSGsSv8
EDIT Mar 18, 2015
It turns out that it is not a beacon but is some digital signal centered more at 13,560 KHz as can be seen in this waterfall display. What was thought to be a beacon or "pip" was just one component of the whole signal.
