Especially tonight (he is doing open lines) I love his program! He still has it obviously, sounds the same as he did on C2C. It really is an addiction, hearing is almost haunting, yet normal guy voice in the nighttime, keeping me up.
Each time he does open lines, I think I should give him a call, but even though I am not a nervous guy, I get real nervous and wouldn't know what to say, so I never do. Plus, thank god WBCQ is carrying it, because there isn't a MW station for miles around here carrying it, and listening to it online is NO WHERES NEAR the same as hearing the crackle and fade, just like C2C when you would tune in to some blowtorch playing it (like for me, WTAM 1100 from Cleveland airs somewhere in time on Saturday nights). Rock on Mr. Bell, you're kicking ass my friend. And I will call in sometime.........sometime.......

I like the show, but I also really like that he's on four SW frequencies. I listen to WTWW on 5085, as that thing pegs the needle here. 7490 is a good second. 9330 is ok and 6070 is a mess due to 6060/6065.
If he wasn't on SW, no chance I'd be able to hear him on radio. Plus, FM would be weird for that show. While we have C2C on a local 25kW (night) station, I prefer to listen to another station via DX. Local station does a fine job in broadcasting, but hearing the ionosphere change the MW signal gives it life.
Internet? Bah. I only have ADSL and sometimes it gets full which then chops up the stream. And if the connection breaks, then what? At least with radio, far simpler & more reliable. Plus radio sounds better.
You should call him. If you think you'll forget stuff, make a brief outline of what you want to mention.

Art's new show is coming in better here than C2C, now that our local station dropped C2C a couple of years ago. I have to tune in San Antonio or Iowa to pick up C2C now. It has been interesting to compare the various shortwave stations for reception and overall quality. Usually 5085 and 7490 come in best.
6070 is more than just QRM - there's been some tech glitches too that garble the audio. At the rate China and others are QRMing broadcasts they dislike they're practically destroying the 49m band. Who knows, it might as well be another pirate/free radio band since it's mostly bible screamers, and propaganda from China and Cuba. The only exception appears to be good artistic programming from Mexico and Brazil.

Agreed skeezix, radio DOES sound better. His voice is the best sounding voice on all MW and SW stations. I really cannot explain exactly what is it, but his voice sounds just absolutely amazing on the air.

Art knows how to use his voice, he's a real pro. He even sounds like that on LSB when I've heard him on the 75-80m hamster bands, a few years ago when he was a semi-regular from his Pahrump antenna farm. He used some audio processing, but mainly it's his real voice.
