VOA Africa 6080 AM 0330 UTC 31 July 2015

Bit of a surprise - for some reason I'd thought VOA had ceased most broadcasting.  Long segment on recent discovery of aircraft debris believed to possibly be from missing Malaysian flight MH370.

Good signal, S3-S8 with some rapid fluttering fades, not too much QRN.  Some odd continuous 3-tone in background - strongest on LSB - sounds more like QRM than part of VOA background music or sound fx.

Two minute video demonstrating QRM (https://youtu.be/d125Ddg0YeU).

The Voice of America comes in great on 6080 kHz in the evenings here in New York, in the late afternoons it's heard in English on 15580 kHz, though signal strength fluctuates depending on the transmitter site used. Back in November/December of 2014 they used the Greenville Transmitter site for the 15580 kHz broadcast and the signal was a constant S9 +40. Nowadays it's a lot weaker.
