Title: Brazil-Radio Educacao Rural 4925 am 2337z 1SEPT2015
Post by: flexoman61 on September 02, 2015, 1304 UTC
S2, weak but clear, audible signal

4625am
Brazil
Tefe AM xmitter, 5kw

I picked up several South American
stations, all with fair copy. But most are hard to ID. When looking
up the freqs., several low power stations are listed on
the same freq.
I imagine stations like these are intended more for
localized reception. But they are a fun DX.

These were at the grey line, usually have a good DX
for South American Stations at that time. A lot of the stations
will disappear an hour or so after the sunset here, but a few
will remain throughout the evening.

Also picked up Radio Aparecida on 9630 am
Brazil, Aparecida SP xmitter, 10kw
fair signal, decent copy.

Nice catch!  I've never managed Educacao Rural up here.  Wow.  I was getting some pretty decent tropical band DX the other night myself.  I only wish my local noise level hadn't been so darn high, I'd have had Bolivia's San Miguel and Brazil's Radio Congonhas for sure.  As it was, I got Difusora Londrina for the first time.
