Title: Shortwave Radio Repair
Post by: flexoman61 on September 20, 2015, 1350 UTC
Does anyone hear on HFU do radio repair
or can recommend someone?

There is a guy here in Connecticut who had
done a repair for me but with his work load
it took more than 3 months to get my radio back.
Also he was very expensive for the repairs that were
done.

Looking online for repair service gives me about the
same results, long, long lead time to get your radio back.

There has to be a better way!!

I have a Kenwood R-2000 that I believe will need service
soon.

Thanks

Depends on what kind of work it needs....IMHO just to "peek under the hood" with postage, etc., may be a hard $$$ pill to swallow. You might want to look at a good used 2000 on eBay. I bought a YAESU FRG 100 off eBay some time ago and it was the best $350 spent.  Good Luck!  ...Steve
