New clandestine to Yemen 11860khz reported as early as 1905z and as late as 2145z today 11/20/15.
IDs but mostly continuous arabic-type music.
Based in Saudi Arabia (?) - started by ousted Yemen President Hadi (?).
Reportedly there is a transmission at "0700" but unsure if thats UTC or local (0400z if local).

Good evening,
Between 2310z and 2340z, I was only able to pull faint voice out of the 'qrm' on 11860KHz. Also at 2347z what may have been a transmitter coming on line began and my signal ended at 2349z.
I am in south central Florida.
I am receiving on an ICR75 with a wire antenna at 10ft nw-se.

CURRENTLY ON AIR - the clandestine Radio Sana'a (a.k.a. Republic of Yemen Radio). It's believed to be operating from Riyadh transmitters on 11860 kHz. First noted 2140, continuous music, occasional IDs as "Radio Sana'a…", a new program at 2200, then more music and some anncts in between. S9 signal when first tuned in, but down to S5 now (2225 UT). Apparently this station only started up a few days ago and is supportive of the Hadi forces against the Houthi rebels. Needs further investigating! Nov 22.

Just signed off at 2300. Signal was down to S3 by this time. Will be interesting to see just how long the Saudi government keeps supplying it's txers for use by exiled Pres. Hadi. Riyadh has possibly the best and most extensive SW txer facilities in the ME.

Copied here yesterday 11/22 at 1856z - OM talking in unknown language. S5 at best - quiet conditions here.
Singing (?) then OM with little fanfare at top of hour 1900z.
Stronger with Arabic type music by 1946z. Peaks to S7. Wind instruments & drums with OM singing/chanting.

A)Thanks to Mauno Ritola tip-off, observed Republic of Yemen Radio signing-on 11860 kHz at 17.57 UT with what seemed to be an interval signal of flute-dominated music (not the like the flute IS on Interval Signals Online; however the most recent clip on there dates from 2008). Then Arabic ID as Republic of Yemen Radio, General Programme followed by Yemeni national anthem, sign-on announcement and Koran. Different programming to stream at sannaradio.net. Clandestine via Saudi Arabia? Fair reception via Twente rx in Netherlands.

Picked it up in Cairo,Egypt around 19:30 UTC with Yemeni music poor to fair reception , at 20:00 UTC there was the news with ID Huna Sanaa idhaat aljumhuriya alyamaniya al bernamaj al a'am - this is Sanaa the republic of Yemen Radio the general program - with news about the return of the Yemeni president to Aden .
According to some sources there's 2 transmissions the first one from 7:00 to 12:00 and the second one from 21:00 to 02:00 ( not sure about if it's Yemeni time or UTC )
Checked the audio stream of Sanaa online and there was a different feed talking about the Saudi invasion of Yemen so it was operated by the rebelled houthei supported by the former president of Yemen Ali Abdul Allah Saleh .
According to an online source the transmission is transmitted from Aden , but based on the fact that Yemen is having problems with power and a lot of black outs leaving great part of Yemen without electricity it must be coming from a nearby country of Yemen, my guess would be Saudi Arabia .
Will keep checking and keep you posted

Another report. So is it Radio Sanaa or not??
Observed this morning (25 Nov 2015) at 03:57 UT on 11860 kHz with flute
interval signal then sign-on with Arabic ID and national anthem at 04:00
UT. Fair reception via Twente (Netherlands) remote rx. Also observed
same day signing-off with anthem at 09:00 UT; poor reception. Tx
presumed to be in Saudi Arabia.

Radio Sana on 11860 kHz with patriotic songs up to 2100 UT from which a clear ID announcement by OM and followed by news read by OM.
And Riyadhseems to be the bx location - make that Jeddah.

Widely reported now into mid USA states particularly 1500-1800z - if you're a fan of clandestines, this one is interesting.
Often competes with VOA via Kuwait on same 11860khz.
