Title: WDDR 3440 USB 0147z
Post by: Rafman on January 01, 2016, 0148 UTC
0147z "When You Dance, I Can Really Love" Neil Young
0151z ID, jingle LIVE ID
0157z ment me, into "Message of Love" The Pretenders
0610z s/off

s6-7 9+ peaks!!! [Better here/now than last 15 minutes on 43m!!!]

***I've been listening since tune in, loving it & enjoying your mentions of Rafman but I now have come up with a request that the Mrs. [who has also been listening] wants to hear...
It's a simple but deeply meaningful tune:
"Radio" by Alkaline Trio

Thank you for the LIVE show, the energy you bring to the air & your high technical standards.  May we see a better 2016 together!!!

Much better signal here at 0147 UTC with "When You Dance I Can Really Love" Neil Young & Crazy Horse :)
0151 UTC OM with Drunken DJ Radio ID and jingle
0157 UTC "Drunken DJ Radio...WDDR", into Chrissie Hyndes & Pretenders tune
0201 UTC OM with shoutout to JFarley, into "King of the World"-Steely Dan
0206 UTC Thanks DDJ! :)
0210 UTC Reads out the posters names
0223 UTC I'm happy because I'm doing my favorite hobby now and tomorrow brings with it the promise of a New Year ;)
0234 UTC I love that "Skipmuck Looks Happy" bit...nice laugh track too!
0242 UTC "Undun"-Guess Who ( I only posted this because everybody spelled it wrong...)
0300 UTC Check out Radio After Dark's posting...he's smiling from ear to ear also!
0306 UTC "40,000 Headmen"-Traffic (Great tune!)
0313 UTC "WDDR cares about your requests", into a request for refmo and "I Got a Line On You"-Spirit
0317 UTC Wow! The Rockin Vickers! Some old Lemmy! That gets another smile from Skipmuck  :)
0332 UTC...Not the song, but thanks anyway! The "I'm Dreaming" I was referring to was by the "Wildweeds", Al Anderson's old group...they had another local hit called "Don't Do No Good To Cry"
Funky is good too!
0345 UTC "You Turn Me On, I'm a Radio"-Joni Mitchell (awesome tune DDJ!)
0355 UTC "Chest Fever"-Band (Music from Big Pink...a classic!)
0401 UTC Hehe....the deal is that I follow the voices...they're happy too!
0409 UTC The reason for existence is to eat Spam and Peanut Butter until death do you part ;D
0422 UTC "No Way Out of Here"-David Gilmore
(Yep...still here and still happy!)
0427 UTC The only thing I know about Nirvana is that you need to take lots of Lithium!)
Thanks for finding that tune DDJ! Al Anderson went on to bigger things like NRBQ
0432 UTC Hmmm... 8) Skippy ain't shy!
0443 UTC "Battle of Evermore"-Led Zeppelin and Sandy Denny from Fairport Convention on vocals
0447 UTC One more smile for the road.... :)
0456 UTC Answer #1 MUF for NVIS at Wallops Island is just above 3 MHZ... Don't think it applies here though or
Answer #2....I'm a gentleman and won't run with the football on that one!
0501 UTC Truly a question of metaphysical manifestations! I'll cogitate that one and maybe 2016 will bring with it new insights into such things. I think it might have something to do with achieving Nirvana...remember, Rust Never Sleeps!
0506 UTC WDDR digs deep into the Brewer and Shipley archive for that one
0509 UTC "Cold Blue Steel and Sweet Fire"-Joni Mitchell
0513 UTC ID and jingle...wish I could send ya some more Molson DDJ!
0521 UTC "Pictures of Lily"-Who
0524 UTC "King Midas In Reverse"-Hollies

I was feeling blue until WDDR brightened up my evening!
"Sail Away"-Randy Newman
"2,000 Light Years From Home"-Rolling Stones
0610 UTC DDJ says Happy New Year! Then OFF

Hey DDJ, how about "That Girl"-CSNY off of American Dream(The only good song off that album!)

If you run out of requests, here's a deep cut for you to play...."I'm Dreaming"-Wildweeds

OK...one more request if there's time..."Battle of Evermore"-Led Zep...

Thanks for the fantastic show tonight WDDR! It was truly memorable and I wish you and your friend a very Happy New Year 2016! :) Thanks for all the shoutouts!

EDIT:Listening back today on my recording of last nights show and it seems the synth voiced YL was actually saying "Hey Skipmuck, what's happening" and not "Hey Skipmuck looks happy". Hmmm, my reply would have been somewhat different! Oh well...don't know what was said twice at 0400 UTC, but I caught the "What's the Deal" part. Thank you for including me in the evenings mayhem!
Despite my difficulty in understanding what "Robin" was saying, I leave my above posting intact....it ain't what it ain't  :-X

0308z - Traffic - Shanghai Noodle Factory
0322z - Tragically Hip - Three Pistols, for our Corqette
0456z - Syd Arthur - Edge of the Earth - still S6 on peaks

Yep. I'm a newbie at this. First night hunting you pirates, and having a blast.

WDDR, your signal was 10 over 9 on 6940, and has been up to 30 over 9 on 3440, here in Lincoln Nebraska.

Let's hear some Snoopy Vs the Red Baron by the Royal Guardsmen. NO?

How about Little Red Rooster by the Stones.

Since you didn't see my requests, I'm not sure you will see my logging, but...

WDDR started on 6940 KHz, and announced the move to 3440 KHz because of poor propagation 0144

Arrived at 3440 KHz and asked for requests 0146

Neil Young? 0147

Played a Pretenders song that I haven't heard in a very long time! 0157

Listened to the entire broadcast, until sign off at 0609. Thanks for the fun WDDR!

Onto the isthmus at 0345Z, I don't recognize the song, but there might be some Celtic influences in with the rock?  Anyway, SIO 434 in Madison, best on sideband to avoid nasty local static.  This is the first pirate I've ever heard down on 80M!

Any chance of Joe Bonamasa's 'So Many Roads'?  Sorry, I can't spell.  Drunken DJ Radio has TLR - that is, tipsy listener radio!

Thanks for the show, and have a lovely new year!

Edited to add: Thanks very much for playing my song!  Roughly 0405Z and I get a pleasant surprise!  :)  I first heard that particular song on a local community station about two years ago, and it about knocked my socks off.  Hard but lyrical blues for the win.  Cheers WDDR!
