This morning I took a couple of quick spins through the Russian beacons, just to see if they were still alive.

Russian "K" beacon booming into Colorado's front range tonight (Thurs night 3/10).  A quick tune thru 40 meters around local midnight and I am hearing a quick succession of "K"s at 7039.3 Khz.  I've never really listened for the Russian single letter beacons before (probably in part to a low and somewhat noisy antenna) but K is clearly QSO quality here tonight (time now 0718Z).  Either great condx or a change in their operations....
