Title: 1500 UNID station causing interference - who is it?
Post by: Kilokat7 on February 07, 2016, 1946 UTC
Here's a good mystery:  1500 kHz, an unid causing interference almost nightly here since at least the Fall of 2015 and looping to my South.  I suspect one of the stations in Alabama or Georgia, but I'm too far from the source to confirm anything:

If you're near an AM station on 1500, maybe you can confirm or deny this is your local causing the interference?

I have WAKE 1500 Khz Valparaiso, In. about 1000 feet from my house.

I cant tell if that is them on your recording. They are 1000 watts daytime only, they sign off around 7:30 PM local time.

My guess would be WDPC in Dallas, GA. They run a tad over 3kW at night. Nothing but preachers. They used to have a character called the "Georgia Prophet" who was on all night in the late 80's. He was kind of a cross between Brother Stair and the Reverend Ike.
