Title: "Last Call" ICOM IC-R75 Table Top HF Receiver
Post by: Oliver on March 05, 2016, 1531 UTC
"Last Call" ICOM IC-R75 Table Top HF Receiver : Yes, it's true and is not a misprint, Icom has discontinued the IC-R75 HF receiver. It had a great 16 year run on the market. I would NOT look for Icom to replace the model.  As I type this entry most US Icom dealers had limited remaining stock. So if you ever desired a NEW sample, better do that soon. NO NO NO...the very similar LOOKING IC-718 is NOT the same beast with just a transmitter added. The IC-718 HF Ham transceiver is only using a dual conversion receiver design (and no dual PBT either). How sad it is !!! IuhCOM has only 2 wide band sets left in the receiver line up, the super expensive IC-R9500 and IC-R6 handheld. (Mar 04)

Going , Going.....Almost GONE !!!
Icom has officially discontinued the IC-R75 Receiver

Wonder if they'll roll out an sdr rx as a replacement. Considering their new IC-1300.

That sucks.  It seems like we are seeing less of table top receivers and even portables.  I mainly use a WinRadio Excalibur, but own an R-75, which I listen to in my garage/workshop.  It is a great radio!
