Title: UNID 6965 kHz Bird Calls with no announcements/ID
Post by: SW Observer on May 16, 2016, 0054 UTC
Heard continuously on 6965 kHz on the Twente WebSDR from 1600 UTC through 0100 UTC, still transmitting at the time of this post.

This station appears to broadcast bird calls nonstop with no announcements, ID's or interruptions. Signal varies from S9 +10 to S3. Transmission is in AM mode.

I imagine this station to be a pirate but that notion cannot be proven.

Any further details regarding this station are duly appreciated!

Hi !

Itīs still on. Weak here in Austria, but audible.
I remember that I had this on several recordings in the 27 MHz area last autumn - somentimes on 2 frequencies in //.
No idea what it is.

This might be source of the bird calls, although not // to shortwave - but it seems there are more "channels" available for registered users.

In Ohio US The signal is week, but can hear it. I think it may be a  spy bug that is on a shortwave frequency?

Four weeks ago or so, this mystery station aired sounds of porn clips in English. Now bird calls only.

Tuned in to the Twente SDR to catch RFW hopefully and caught The Bird Calls at 0110 at a S7 on 5/20/16. Tried again at 0130 and it was gone and catching RFW punching thru the noise. ;D

Check of the Twente WebSDR at 0335 UTC showed that the birds were still active on 6965 kHz, signal was S7 with moderate fading though it was audible.

Checking my SDR recording, I may have had this today, in the 0200-0400 time period, on 6965.1, with a carrier, but no audio.
It was also there the morning of the 21st and the 20th.

Has been going on now since 2345 UTC today (22 May 2016) on the U of Twente's WebSDR. Nothing on my receiver here (but too light for that frequency, if they're over in Europe).

-70 dB at start

1729 - assorted bird calls...
1732 - faded down to just a carrier in the ether
