Title: Getting back to my roots
Post by: atrainradio on September 16, 2016, 0302 UTC
It's been a while since I was on here! I've missed our family here at the HFU. I was an admin for a SWL page on facebook; but it turns the people on there were some of the most hideous, argumentative, egotistical and annoying people I ever met. So to hell with that I say! I have not once had a problem on here- so why leave it?

Basically I am getting back my roots and wish to be more active on here again.

Oh and thanks for being the nicest and most knowledgeable group of people I know!

I saw a post you made there. I guess since it's a general SWL group, they all have their own interests and don't dig what you do. I, for one, like it all, so keep it up.

It's no different in the ham groups on FB. Mention a mode that someone doesn't like, a brand of radio, hell, personal favorite frequency or band you like to operate on, and someone will come talking trash. I just scroll on past.

I thought it was about tire pressure and penguins?

How's your second year of college, Atrain? Enjoy it, it goes by much too fast.

Well I am a radio personality on Rowan Radio 89.7 hosting a late night show called "The Vinyl Frontier" and college is very nice yeah! I really love it.

Haven't been caught in possession of any green leafy substances that rhyme with "cot" yet so I can dig it. Isn't that what college is all about it?

In all seriousness, I am quite excited to be on their station. It has over 500,000 regular listeners and the executive manager has been in the radio business and even worked for Voice of America! He says I have the natural radio voice and expects great things!

Welcome.

I hear ya on the heat and discontent on some of the forums. One ham forum I check out gets a lot of that between hams.

None of that here.
