In a strange "hostile takeover" of state TV broadcasters, not to mention a bizarre moment of startling symmetry with the current state of American politics, C-SPAN, the public affairs network that broadcasts political proceedings the United States House of Representatives and Senate, was interrupted by a live feed of Russian TV channel, RT, formerly known as Russia Today.

It reminds me of the SCTV episode where CCCP1-Russian television takes over SCTV’s transmission.

TOC must have programmed in the wrong feed and no one noticed for a while. It has happened before.

That's my favorite episode of SCTV. "Tibor! Psst Tibor! It's me, Nikita Khruschev!" That camper back truck space shuttle is a prime example of pre-Red Green Canadian technology. Just think what they can do now!
-
Would've been more fun if Max Headroom seized the broadcast.
-
Your right, red green would have used a lawnmower, a hockey bag, and lots of duct tape.

Do you remember the movie "Used Cars" where Kurt Russell hires Micheal McKean and Dave Lander aka "Lenny and Squiggy" to break into Pres. Carter's pre-Monday Night football address by seizing the uplink channel and running his crazed commercial?
"Officer we were getting ready for our football spot when a bunch of guys with guns and beards ran up, took control of the production truck, ran the spot, and drove off with it and the crew, yelling 'Ayatollah, Ayatollah!' It was the damndest thing you ever saw!"
At least that's how I recall the bit. It's been over thirty years since I've seen the movie. Jack Warden played two twin car lot owning brothers, and Al Lewis, "Grandpa Munster" and Shari Lewis's dad, played the judge. McKean's Radio Shack parts pacemaker bit was excellent, too. A very underrated movie.

That Radio Shack line was the funniest in the entire movie. McKean and Lander were a great comic duo.
My next favorite line, when Kurt and the other guys are trying to tell the owner's evil brother that the owner is away (when everyone knows he's dead, but they don't know that the other side knows too).
"Where'd he go?"
"Miami."
"Miami?"
"Miami Beach."
"Miami Beach?"
"Florida."
"I know where the $#%& Miami Beach is!"
It's the way it's played, of course. Writing it down robs it of its Moličrian brilliance, but when you see it you can't help but laugh. Jack Warden was great in that role. And remember, $50 never killed anyone.

LOL! Good ol' Marshall Lucky.

Excellent movie :)
