Title: WWV Broadcast Outages
Post by: ChrisSmolinski on February 08, 2017, 1523 UTC
Due to an electrical up-grade, Radio Station WWV will be off the air on all frequencies on February 21 and 22, 2017. The outages will occur between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM Mountain Standard Time, and will not exceed 8 hours in duration each day.

To be clear, this is WWV only? Your heading includes WWVH. Thanks Chris.

Yes, WWV only. Sorry for the confusion, I copied the page title from the WWV site, which included WWVH, as it is their general outages page. I changed the title of the thread to reflect that, good catch!

Might be a good opportunity to hear other time stations normally blocked by WWV.

They're Still on the air? "Hey Chump...here's some more tax-saving nonsense to consider."

Well darn.  I'm going to be at work during both outages, so no chance to try for Argentina, Venezuela, Spain, South Korea... crud.

That's where working will get you, Chanter. Just about everyone else here lives in Mom's basement. When Ma kicks off they save money by burying her in the backyard and keep collecting her retirement to buy more radio stuff.

A certain guy I know that posts obits here is still collecting money from the Ottoman Empire for his Mom's work as nurse in the Crimean War.

This is exactly why the USNO needs to get on shortwave.

BTW: Long overdue  for LORAN-C/eLORAN to get on and provide time.

c'mon!
