Title: BBC news being broadcast on 6010 khz at 0500Z
Post by: MNewl on February 11, 2017, 0517 UTC
Does anyone know why BBC news program is being broadcast on 6010 khz?  I'm hearing this on 2/11/2017 at 0515Z with a good signal, 10dB over S9. 6010khz is not a frequency listed on the BBC Worldservice website. The strong signal seems to indicate the transmitter is located in the Americas. Google didn't produce any results either. Very curious as I haven't heard the BBC on shortwave in years

Perhaps you're receiving a local spur? There's a station here in Denver, KGNU at 1390 AM, that sometimes spurs up to 6950 (1390x5), and they carry the BBC WS for a couple of hours every day.
