Title: DGPS Logs Mar 07, 2017 UTC 0253 - Mar 08, 2017 UTC 2331 (AFE822x)
Post by: skeezix on March 11, 2017, 0116 UTC
This was done on a second system using an AFE822x & Wellbrook ALA100LN with 43' wire loop oriented E-W. The decodes were done on ADGPS for windows (someone has to test it) and set to include 0.5 kHz channels.

Two things of interest:
Upolu is valid.

Kuantan. Probably not valid, but what's interesting is that its the only one on 291.0 kHz that I get here, and that includes my main Perseus system.

The stations we have for 291.0 kHz:
 291.0;100;205;225;245;Cape Recife;South Africa;-34.0369;25.7019
 291.0;200;610;620;621;Yanwei Gang;China;34.4894;119.79
 291.0;200;621;642;643;Sanzao;China;22;113.4
 291.0;100;439;691;-01;Wormleighton;England;52.2081;-1.37361
 291.0;100;364;528;-01;Cabo Salou;Spain;41.05;1.16667
 291.0;100;415;630;631;Djupivogur;Iceland;64.6536;-14.2839
 291.0;200;741;122;123;Kuantan;Malaysia;3.81667;103.333
 291.0;200;380;550;551;Bechet;Romania;43.7522;23.9553

Kuantan is UTC+8, so those times would be 14:14 & 15:17 MYT. Unless Chuck Norris is visiting, pretty safe to assume its not Malaysia, at least by our current understanding of MW propagation.

At that time, it is possible that I could have received Iceland, Romania, England, or Spain, and it was a bad decode. Further, taking into account the transmission rate, the likely candidate would be bad decodes from Romania. Romania is UTC+2, so these times are 08:14 & 09:17 EET, with local sunrise (in Bucharest) of 06:35 EET (04:35 UTC). Grayline is over by then(?). So its likely just noise that just happened to match.

Yes, the Kuantan decodes are probably just noise. I take it that it has never appeared before?

Hasn't happened before, at least not that I remember.
