Title: Sportsworld BBC 17640 AM 1630 UTC 19 March 2017 - Excellent Match
Post by: Ct Yankee on March 19, 2017, 1637 UTC
Good reception....first significant listen on the just-home-from-the-shop T/O 7G605 (found it online for a steal a year ago, it has been away 11 months), just using the whip antenna on it.

1630z They picked the best match of the weekend to broadcast....Manchester City v Liverpool.  Kick off just occurred, two OM's on play by play.  Curious broadcast and broadcast time.  Sportsworld had been transmitting only the 2nd half of matches at 1700z on Sundays (due to broadcast rights?), it appears they are broadcasting an entire match from 1630z.

1640z Attempt on goal by City, game being played in heavy rain.
1645z Firmino of Liverpool carded.
1649z Sane down the left, Silva shoots over goal

Listening on 17640 kHz here in Central Florida, good S9 +10 signal with the Tecsun PL-660 and a 25 ft long wire antenna.

Usually I listen to the VOA on 17895 kHz at this hour, but the BBC WS has a great signal now, so I'm enjoying the match too.
