Title: Pirate SSTV Web Cam page changes
Post by: Token on October 30, 2010, 0404 UTC
Howdy all,

Well, leaving the Pirate SSTV Cam web page tuned to 6925 USB 24 hours a day did not work out so well.  The page worked great, and caught a lot of good SSTV.

However, it also caused a lot of people to transmit on top of each other.  Hey, it happens anyway, but sometimes for the SSTV Page it was shear shock value images, not just an image that was the content of or part of someone’s program.

So, I am going to leave the page up but move it off the often used 6925 kHz USB freq.  It will now be on 6940 kHz USB except when I am actively at the radio and listening to it, then it will be on whatever is active.  That way the stations that want to test propagation at odd hours to see if they are getting to the west coast can, but folks that want to transmit a program on 6925 can do that with only the traditional amount of stepping on each other.

My apologies to anyone who might have gotten jammed in the process of figuring this out, I heard it happen to a few.

EDIT:  I have added a current status just above the first image, it gives the frequency the radio is currently tuned to.

Finally noticed your message with the "current status" indicator.
Hmmmm....

What radio and antenna are you using for the Slow Scan?
Just curious!! I've noticed that quite a few pictures are being received- Great Job!

Thanks
