Hi Chris,
hello to the Forum,
I'm newly registered, a member from Belgium...
Nice list of DGPS - I just started to use your great DGPS-decoder program, Chris... actually starting the recording here in late afternoon...
Last night I heard a couple of north-American Beacons from East Canada and also the north east states of USA...
My best antenna is a giant EWE - I just scaled up the usual inverted-U shape for low frequency - now 20m vertical up - 60m horizontal and 20m vertical down to ground resistor of 600Ohm. Direction of max sensitivity of this antenna is towards the feedpoint (opposite of swamping resistor) - in my case to north west. This antenna is about 1S-unit better in Signal to noise than my 170meter long Beverage antenna over the fields to the same direction. It is very easy to build up such giant EWE, if you have some trees - you can also simply throw a wire over several higher trees, so you have a larger version, than the usual well known EWE... it will just work better on lower frequencies..
For East I have another Beverage of 170m ...
Also I use a long time LZ1AQ loops. Since this winter, I use 2x 1.6m diameter of 20mm alu-tubes loops side by side, but horizontal in the small tower - about 11m high. This is great antenna from 3-50Mhz. On high frequencies, such as 16m BC-band, it has considerable GAIN (about 8dbd!) due to ground reflection... on such frequencies it has also very low radiation angle...
You can connect to my web-radio (adres below) . During daylight I use the horizontal loops - during nighttime the Beverages...
Will post some DGPS recording results tomorrow (coming night)...

Welcome to the forum Ulli.
Congrats on getting the US and Canadian beacons. I will occasionally get them from Europe (usually Portugal), and more often Azores and Madeira.
The LZ1AQ amplifier is indeed very good, I use it with my Crossed Parallel Loop. Your EWE antenna sounds like it is working very well.
I look forward to seeing your DGPS logs!

Chris,
how do you process the many recorded files ? Unfortunately I found, that the decoder software CANNOT monitor the I/Q file directory and process new files as mentioned in the current help file.
I am using latest software version 1.09 on latest Windows 10 and brandnew PC...
I need to process 90 files from last night manually. Is there any proven way to batch process these 90 recording files to one by one process them through the software ?
Monitoring and process new I/Q files doesn't work... ;-(
However reception was great last night.... ! Will post results later today...

I only have experience monitoring the file directory on the Mac, which does seem to work OK. I think skeezix may be doing it on Windows? He might have some tips or things to watch out for. I do know that you need to make sure ADGPS can finish processing a file before the next is available. Also, it will only try to process newly created files after it starts to run, it will not process files already in that directory.
You should be able to manually process all 90 files at once, by selecting them all the files you want to decode at the same time when using the Open I/Q File menu item in the File menu. It will then process them one at a time, rather than you having to select one file, wait for it to decode, select the next, etc.
