BTW, I've gotten the tacit message that I shouldn't be asking for QSLs since I listen using someone else's setup. I agree, so to be clear I'm logging only out of respect for free radio pirates.

As long as you're clear about where you're listening I think you should be fine. Example, if you're listening via an online SDR, identify that online SDR. I have gotten a few QSL's from online SDR listening, so its worth trying anyway. The worst that can happen is that they don't QSL.

That's friggin' nuts. As a former op all I wanted to know was where it was being heard and how well. How you did it was your business.
When did there get to be rules on how you could listen? It must the work of be Oilcan Harry and his gang? They've been out to get Mighty Mouse since I was a little kid. You'd think they'd learn?
I lived to watch the Mouse every Saturday morning as a kid, nice avatar!

Thank you for your supportive comments, MDK2 and Pigmeat! I was told flat-out by one pirate who confirmed my reception but said I was "cheating" and another that said sdr reports are of little use to pirates or international broadcasters. I disagree and think that most pirates want to know how many people are listening, and the pool of potential listeners is pretty damn small as it is.
I bought my house without thinking of the enormous power grid nearby, and there are several other good reasons why I can't erect an outdoor antenna. I also live in New Mexico. When I can, I take my Tecsun PL-680 to the park and was surprised and pleased a few weeks ago to hear Wolverine very well.
I'll take your suggestions and change my profile to indicate that I'd be happy to receive a QSL if offered, but that it's never expected.
