Do any of you guys remember the old urban legend about the Titanic's distress call being heard for decades afterwards? It involved some old saw about signals being "trapped inside the ionosphere". I last saw it in print in the early 70's.
There's a type of hoax where the participants are linked by the act only, they may not know others are doing it. It can go on a long time. I've always heard them called "ladder conspiracies." I wonder if this new Titanic station is the unknowing heir to a long line of other Titanic stations that started in the nineteen-teens and twenties?
