Title: WBOG-17 @ 6835.3 AM
Post by: aurora on February 05, 2011, 2007 UTC
Good signal with noisey audio on 6835.3 AM. Someone is jamming with a strong carrier on 6835.6 khz.
1925 - rock & roll music
1931 - ID, KMBS
1949 - ID, KMBS
1950 - Marijuana  Proficiency Use quiz
1956 - Federation of the Blind promotional announcement
1959 - ID, KMBS
2000 - announced new reception report QSLs are ready - send reports to PO Box 452, Wellsville NY
2004 - New ID, Whiskey Bravo Oscar Golf Seventeen (WBOG-17)
2008 - ID, "KMBS Free Radio Relay Service - Canada Shortwave", "Contact us at KMBS, Hilo, Hawaii, Thanks for listening to Canada Shortwave"

Many questions? My mistake - after reviewing recording I realized this is a rebroadcast of KNBS California Marijuana Cooperative not KMBS as I indicated above.

2044 - Hearing Navy Net traffic on 6834 USB using callsigns Golf Charley, Hotel, Uniform & November. Sounds like a continuation of exercises started last week. I believe military traffic originates from Florida. A couple stations were commenting on hearing music on channel.
2050 - WBOG-17 ID given again (what is this 17?)
2053 - signed off (only hear miltary traffic now)

Yep,that was a KNBS show. The Hilo drop box has been extinct for many, many years. My guess is that show is close to 20 years old.
