The US Department of Justice and the FCC have reached a settlement with Brian Crow, K3VR, of North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, to resolve allegations that Crow intentionally interfered with the communications of other Amateur Radio operators and failed to properly identify. The core component of the settlement calls on Crow to pay $7,000 to the US Treasury, the FCC and US Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania Scott W. Brady announced in separate July 3 news releases. In addition, Crow’s Amateur Extra class license will be restricted to Technician class privileges for 6 months, and he has agreed to discontinue contact with the individuals involved in this case. Crow’s Amateur Extra privileges will be restored after 6 months, “if no new violations have been found,” the FCC said.

I heard some jackass in the AM window on 40 operating in LSB about a khz off of 7285 with a solid amount of power wiping the AM guys out , and it's not the first time. It happens on 75 and 40 to the AM'er's on a regular basis and has for decades.
I'm not a ham, and my opinion of the FCC is at the bottom of the scale, but I'm glad to see them actually do their job for the folks who likely respect them the most.

Brian Crow/K3VR was/is one of the central players in the madness that could be heard almost daily on the infamous 14.313 Mhz. I used to tune into that frequency occasionally when nothing else was being heard elsewhere on the bands. The ongoing fights on there were very similar to listening to the type of trash-talking often found on CB radio. The fight had been ongoing for YEARS, giving you some idea of just how slow the FCC is to respond to things like this.

i listen to the AM guys at both 80m and 40m and often hear persistent deliberate interference to them.
its a shame because many of the topics they talk about can be pretty interesting to listen to, often better topics than whats heard on 40m/80m SSB, but the conversations always gets cut short because of some idiot.

313 has been a mess for decades. Then one of the miscreants started living on 7200 and the 313 dregs followed him there, so he then moved to 7180 and polluted that frequency too. I think it's a nice thing they stick to certain freqs and leave the rest of the ban alone.
I imagine those who despise the fcc would likewise despise these folks if they started jamming pirate radio. They tried to mess with us on 7173 slowscan and one of my comrades said "I'm embarrassed for you" and that was all it took to get them to move along. I fear the day they discover pirate radio, their retardation will be utterly unfettered, however they might need the immediate gratification of their victims howls and thus eschew pirate radio, a decidedly one sided affair.

Such folks should be careful. Activity like this may get you a walk on the plank, or a pin in your coax...perhaps worse.
