Using the Token/Mojave SDR, I am hearing what sounds like several fishing boats on 6990 USB talking in American-accented English.  No locations given--references to adding oil to engines, and staying on the water "for another four hours".

Any regional variation on the American English?  I've heard several QSOs in the 6900-7000 kHz range in English but those were either West African-accented, Caribbean-accented or heavy Boston/New England accented English QSOs.  6953 kHz USB and 6959 kHz USB have both been logged with New England fishery traffic...often quite explicit (maybe since they're outside the marine bands they think their conversation is less likely to be monitored by other boats/fishing fleets/the bossman back on shore?).  You're on the West Coast though so I imagine the QSO you were hearing was coming from fishing fleets in the pacific on 6990 kHz USB.

Hi, their American accents were typical of what is called the "Oakie"/southwestern accent, frequently heard here in California.
