Possibly the clearest signal I've copied in over a year - still not excellent, but good and steady, enough for me to be able to understand the male announcer whose accent, when combined with the ever present VOK hum, my damaged hearing, and any RF noise at all, makes him difficult for me to understand most of the time, during the whole news portion of the broadcast. The signal was a little stronger on 9435 but it was also noiser.
This broadcast was as good as any I've ever copied in the month of May, which seems to be the best time of year for this station. (It's the only time of year that their 0400 broadcasts to Central America are clear enough to copy with legible audio here.) That makes some sense, since the sun is at about the same latitude now as it is that month, but in the past my July logs have never copied it nearly as well.

Power disruptions noted at 1300z 9435kHz sign on, but prior to "VOK News Now!" 27 Jul 2018
Also noted another power dropout at 1540z lasting about 10 minutes...

In the 9435kHz 1500z 10 Aug 2018 VoK news broadcast the words "intelligence organs" was heard and substituted for "intelligence institutions" in the reading of the August 9th Press Statement of Spokesperson for DPRK Foreign Ministry.

I've been trying to VoK in English the past few days, without success, but I did catch a Korean transmission on 15180 at 1210 UTC yesterday, which I think might actually have been KCNA?

Eibi has it as "Voice of Korea KCBS." I'm not sure why that extra KCBS is added. Most transmission blocks of VOK include one hour of Korean, and they always call it this. I do know that there are some differences from other language broadcasts (they always finish with their national anthem, and I don't think they start with the same set of patriotic music as their other language hours.. also, it ends at :50 of the hour instead of :57) Also, the Korean language broadcast usually closes out a transmission. For example, 9435 and 11710 to North America starts at 1300 and ends at 1800, or more accurately 1750, with the last hour being the only one in Korean.
