Title: NY Mets to WCBS 880 am
Post by: Ct Yankee on September 17, 2018, 2158 UTC

Good news  :)!  The Mets are moving from WOR 710 AM to WCBS 880 AM for their flagship station for 2019.  While both are 50k watt class A stations, WOR beams into the Atlantic - I struggle to pick them up day and night.  WCBS, on the other hand, can be heard well into Pennsylvania and central New England days and the entire east coast plus well into the midwest at night.

Receiving WCBS here in Michigan tonight on a portable in the basement.  OTOH, WOR is hard to pull in here even with an outdoor antenna.

They're by far the strongest of the NYC AM's down this way and have been for years. 710 is good from fall to late spring, but can get a little tough at times in the static season of summer.
