Title: Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD)
Post by: John Poet on April 17, 2011, 0312 UTC
Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) ****** Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD)********* Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) ******** Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD)

'The most obvious symptom of NPD is massive unwarranted self importance where the sufferer believes they are a super dynamic ALL-STAR!  If you don't proceed to get on your knees and kiss their feet they will do everything in their power to destroy you.'

'The most common cause of NPD is being an over-sensitive f**k who can't take criticism.'

 ::)

Nah, I can't think of anyone I know who's like that...

Oh the narcissists i haz known... but remember,  to a narcissist,  there's no such thing as bad publicity.  Though I hear ignoring them makes them furious,  as does non-attribution...

Also,  success (life after the narcissist) is the best revenge.

:)  Be Well!

I'm manic-depressive, myself-- but mostly depressive.

If only I could make the 'manic' spells last longer, I could get more done....

The difference between a TRUE leader of men and a narcissistic despot is their respective reactions to their followers.  When the followers poke fun at a true natural leader, that leader laughs along with them.  When the followers poke fun at a narcissistic despot, the despot becomes angry and punishes everyone in a show of narcissistic "power".

A real leader NEVER needs to make threats; his followers keep him in power.  A despot HAS to make threats to keep his followers from overthrowing him.  What the despot never realizes is that the most dangerous people to him are the people CLOSEST to him, not his oppressed followers.  That's why despots always get stabbed in the back when they're not looking.

Well put Raven.

John, you have done quite a lot for free radio this weekend.  Thank you.  In my opinion, you should be bumped to "hero member" status.  Screw the post numbers.

Cheers, Terry

Thanks, Terry, but I'll wait in line.

I don't think I'm any better than anyone else.

The "hero member" comment was more an attempt to add some "light-heartedness" to my post.  (Does anyone really take those member status things seriously?)

As often happens with my attempts at humour, however, I seem to have suffered from poor delivery.

Cheers, Terry

Of course, the first definition of NPD was a rather sarcastic definition.

THIS, however, is a more serious examination of it, and seems familiar:
