Title: CBC Radio North - 9625khz @ 0430 UTC - July 22
Post by: Asuyuka on July 24, 2011, 2358 UTC
Hey, my sister and I picked up an unknown radio station at 9625 khz at about 0430 UTC on the 22nd of the month.  We're in Ridgecrest, California, and were using a Sony 7600GR receiver.

It played Classic Rock, running a show with a cowbell theme.  DJ made this obvious by announcing it during the show and playing cowbell to songs such as Lowrider by War, Lady Marmalade by Christine Agurela, and Love Rollercoaster, but due to the interference and fair to middling reception, we weren't able to identify if it was the cover or the original.

The show ended with it being phased into a news broadcast from the CBC, which ended five minutes later in the middle of Oh Canada, with what sounded like weird rising keyboard noises, then a solid tone that sounded like a solid synth bell tone (or modulated sine wave?) with a carrier continuing to broadcast on the Sideband.

So far, unidentified, but if anyone can be help?

Thank you.  The reception here was okay at best, so we couldn't make out the call sign.
